RESEARCH NOTES

Research registry

Questions, technical studies and source trails.

Research notes are kept separate from technical project studies so each can be evaluated according to the evidence standard appropriate to it.

Order without government / spontaneous order / stateless societies / emergent coordination

Pre Institutional Human Order

If government and every other deliberately designed institution of collective order are removed from the model, what forms of human coordination would still arise from interaction itself?

Research on spontaneous order already asks how coordination can emerge without central design. Research on stateless societies shows that society without a state can still contain rules, authority, custom, and institutions. This note removes that wider institutional layer too, then asks what remains and what forms first.

Order without government

How can people coordinate when no state or central government directs them? This is an established question. Note 001 removes more than government alone.

Spontaneous order

How do practices, norms, and institutions arise from human action without being designed by a single directing authority?

Stateless societies

A society can lack a state while retaining kinship rules, custom, leadership, exchange, dispute settlement, and other institutions.

Social order without central authority

Relevant mechanisms include repeated interaction, reputation, reciprocity, communication, status, coalition formation, and local enforcement.

Method

A new label is not evidence of a new idea. Each note defines the question, identifies the closest literature, separates prior work from the proposed framing, and keeps revisions visible. Technical projects separately state whether work is conceptual, implemented, tested or independently reproduced.
